Recent Trends in Steel Structures A series of 8 nos One day Training programme titled "Recent Trends in Steel Structures" was organised for the Engineers of Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA) during 29th August to 24th September 2012. KMDA presently executing host of steel intensive flyovers and other infrastructures. A valedictory programme was organised on the last day when CEO-KMDA, Special Secretary-KMDA, Deputy Secretary (Training) and Chief Engineers of KMDA along with the participants were present. Around 230 Engineers were trained during these training series.

2 Latest Publications INSDAG published two important publications "Design Guidebook for Crane Girders" and "Life Cycle Cost Analysis for Building".

Final evaluation of INSDAG's competition The final evaluation round of the competition (13th year) took place at Kolkata during 25-27 September 2012. All 14 teams (3 each from west and east and 4 each from north and south) had participated during the final round. Mr Bimlendra Jha, VP (Long Products), Tata Steel was Chief Guest during the inaugural function and Dr Anil Dhawan, Executive Director (Long Products), SAIL was the Guest of Honour during the Award & Closing ceremony. First Prize was won by a team from MEASI Academy of Architecture, second prizes were won by teams of SAP, Chennai and Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi and third prizes were won by teams of D C Patel School of Architecture, Gujarat and MEASI Academy, Chennai.
