INSDAG is providing a single window technical advisory services to both members and non-members on the queries related to steel application and obtaining replies from national experts in the fields.

INSDAG has published need based technical manuals/handbooks, reports for the professionals for practical applications. Institute has till date published 95 technical manuals, guidebooks; and obtained 49 copyrighted publications from SCI, UK.

INSDAG is also supporting Ministry of Steel to develop standardized designs of Steel-Concrete Composite Bridges of various spans for adoption by Ministry of Road Transport & Highways.

Under Govt. of India’s flagship PMAY project, INSDAG is currently participating in one project to enhance the durability of vernacular house designs by using steel frames at various places in India.

Way forward

• Institute wishes to expand to newer areas of steel usages in order to increase consumption of steel and increase its member base through values added services.
• Institute to take up more challenging consultancy jobs on steel usage e.g. low cost housing / affordable housing to establish advantages of steel framed structures.
• Life Cycle Cost (LCC) analysis of steel structures.
• Implementation of electronic publication for dissemination of technical output and balanced thrust on revenue generation.
• Help for setting up of fabrication facilities in rural / semi-urban areas to create entrepreneurs.
• Working on sustainable development including green building.
